NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace recently shared a harrowing story about a near-death experience he had during a 2018 crash at Pocono.

Wallace revealed that his brakes completely blew out on the front stretch, leaving him with a helpless feeling and sending him straight toward the wall.

In those terrifying moments, Wallace says he "thought I was going to die, though. Like legit," before his car's direction shifted at the last second.

The crash was so severe that it shattered a pedal and caused him to bite through his cheek, leaving him with a sore foot and a painful bite mark.

Despite giving a thumbs-up as he climbed out of the wreck, he collapsed on the track afterward and had to be taken to the infield care center.

Wallace, who was a rookie at the time, later admitted that he had felt his brakes fading in the laps leading up to the crash but was unprepared for the total failure.

Since the incident, Wallace has joined Denny Hamlin's 23XI Racing team and has been a successful contender in the Cup Series.

With his win in the Brickyard 400 earlier this year, the veteran driver has already secured his ticket into the 2025 playoffs.
